According to John 15:16, God chose and appointed us to bear fruit that lasts. The most important qualification to preach the Gospel is not one's educational or personal background, but rather being forgiven in Christ Jesus.
"And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified." Acts 20:32.
To grow as a child of God, you've got to study the Word of God. You're to constantly meditate on the Word and it'll metamorphose you. It's important to note once again that it's what you read, watch and listen to, that makes you.
"For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his own natural face in a mirror; For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like" (James 1:23-24 AMP).
"Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses" (1 Timothy 6:12 NASV). Thank God we are born again!
